Keeping our reports up to date

Our contact information is reviewed every six months; all other information is reviewed every two years. At the bottom of each guide page, we indicate the last time the guide was thoroughly reviewed.

If you notice any information that is no longer correct, please contact us. It would be helpful if you could copy the web page address and paste it into the contact form or into your email to us.

The Information Standard

The Research Institute for Disabled Consumers is accredited under The Information Standard.

The Information Standard scheme is operated by NHS England to help the public identify trustworthy health and social care information easily. At the heart of the scheme is the standard itself - a set of criteria that defines good quality health or social-care information and the methods needed to produce it. To achieve the standard, organisations have to show that their processes and systems produce information that is:

  • accurate
  • impartial
  • balanced
  • evidence-based
  • accessible
  • well-written

The assessment of information producers is provided by independent certification bodies accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). Organisations that meet the Standard can place the quality mark on their information materials and their website - a reliable symbol of quality and assurance.

The Information Standard applies to all content on this website except that which is generated by users (comments).

The Research Institute for Disabled Consumers holds responsibility for the accuracy of the information we publish and neither the scheme operator nor the scheme owner has any responsibility whatsoever for costs, losses or direct or indirect damages or costs arising from inaccuracy of information or omissions in information published on the website on behalf of the Research Institute for Disabled Consumers.
